SIP integrations: link SMS Conecta numbers to softphones, PBX platforms and dialers

Short answer: Every SMS Conecta number ships with its own SIP username and password, letting you register it on any SIP-compliant softphone, IP PBX or call-center dialer. Point the software at sip.smsconecta.com on port 5060 (UDP/TCP) or 5061 (TLS), turn on G.711, and calls start flowing to and from that number through the app.

Pick whichever tool you already run, or browse the table below to choose one. Each guide covers the exact fields to fill in, inbound and outbound calling, and fixes for the registration and audio issues people run into most.

  • Zoiper — Walk through adding a SMS Conecta account to Zoiper 5 on desktop or mobile.
  • MicroSIP — Register your number inside the lightweight Windows softphone.
  • Linphone — Connect a third-party SIP account in the open-source Linphone client.
  • Bria — Set up a SIP account for Bria on either desktop or mobile.
  • Groundwire — Place and take calls on iPhone or Android through Groundwire.
  • 3CX — Register SMS Conecta as a SIP trunk inside a 3CX phone system.
  • FreePBX — Build a PJSIP trunk and inbound route inside FreePBX.
  • Asterisk — Sample pjsip.conf registration lines and dialplan entries.
  • FusionPBX — Gateway configuration for FusionPBX and FreeSWITCH.
  • VICIdial — Carrier configuration for VICIdial agents and campaigns.

What we mean by "integration" here

An integration here is nothing more than a SIP registration: your softphone or PBX signs in to our SIP server using one number's credentials, and from that point on, incoming calls to that number land in the app while outgoing calls go out showing that number as caller ID.

There's nothing to install on our end, and no plug-in to buy. The calling itself happens in the software; SMS Conecta provides the real phone number, the SIP account and the network connection underneath it. If you'd rather not install anything, the dashboard's browser-based web dialer works with that same number.

Choosing the right tool

All ten options work with identical credentials. Which one fits best comes down to your device and whether you want a single phone line or a system built to serve a whole team.

Before you begin

  • Buy or open a number, then grab its SIP username and password from that number's dashboard page.
  • Register only one device per set of credentials at a time if predictable inbound ringing matters to you.
  • Open outbound traffic on port 5060 or 5061, along with whatever RTP range your app relies on.
  • Stick to PCMU and PCMA while testing, adding other codecs later only if your app needs them for internal calls.

What stays the same regardless of integration

Registering a number in a PBX or dialer never adds features the underlying service lacks. Call recording, voicemail, IVR menus or automatic dialing, when you have them, come from your own PBX or dialer software, not from us. Emergency calls are not supported on SMS Conecta numbers, so keep a separate way to reach emergency services.

Frequently asked questions

Does each integration need its own subscription?

No. Every number already comes with its SIP credentials at no added charge, and you're free to move them between apps as often as you want.

Is it possible to use one number in both a softphone and the web dialer?

Yes. You're able to call from the browser web dialer while also registering that same number in a softphone; to keep inbound ringing predictable, though, have only one SIP registration active at any given moment.

Is SMS Conecta affiliated with these vendors?

No. These products are independent and simply follow the SIP standard; SMS Conecta connects to them exactly as any other SIP account would.

Which transport is the right one to pick?

Begin with UDP 5060, since that's the default for most apps. Move to TCP 5060 or TLS 5061 instead if your network blocks or alters UDP SIP traffic.
